Paragon is the premier distributor of fresh and specialty foods to the restaurant and foodservice industry in Western Pennsylvania. The company operates a newly constructed, 88,000 square foot distribution facility in Warrendale, PA, located 18 miles north of Pittsburgh. In addition to fresh produce, Paragon provides premium quality dairy, fresh meats, seafood and epicurean products to restaurants, hospitals, universities and K-12 schools, clubs and corporate dining clients throughout Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio and Northern West Virginia.
JustCut, our GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) certified fresh cut produce division, operates a state-of-the-art production facility attached to our distribution center. With the demand for precut fruits and vegetables skyrocketing, we figure the best way to deliver value for our customers is to produce the stuff every day, mostly to-order, so they get only the freshest product with maximum shelf life.
Our Past, Present and Future
Founded in 1962 by Joseph Bellin, Paragon is a third-generation, family owned company with a proven track record of more than 50 years. Elaine Bellin, Joe’s granddaughter and Paragon’s CEO, combines more than 30 years of business experience with the unique passion of a self-described “food brat”. Under Elaine’s leadership, Paragon has grown from a small foodservice distributor to the premier supplier of fresh and specialty foods in Western Pennsylvania.
With the addition of JustCut, Paragon now supplies both foodservice and retail customers with uniquely fresh pre-cut produce. We work with customers ranging from the region’s largest grocery store chains and wholesalers to the trendiest independent restaurants to create proprietary cuts and blends that inspire extraordinary eating experiences for their customers.
As we continue to grow and diversify, Paragon will add more fresh offerings while reaching further into the specialty arena to give customers access to those hard-to-find, authentically delicious foods that make restaurant menus unique and retail shelves enticing.
